In the short time Zebra Mussels have been in the Great Lakes, they have grown in large numbers very quickly. They have been attributed with the now clean conditions of Lake Erie and others. In 1990, Lake Erie was so dirty that you could almost walk across the lake.

After Zebra Mussels were accidentally introduced into the United States and the Great Lakes, the mussel populations have exploded. While the upside of the mussels seem to be positive, there is always a downside. This being, how do we control the population and utilize it's cleaning potential and yet not be overrun by the mussels?

Seaview Diving Contractors has been involved in localized control and removal since the early 1990's when the mussels began showing up in Lake Michigan.

Seaview has installed solution control systems for many municipalities, paper mills and industry and power plants in the Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Seaview has also been involved in many projects to clean and remove the mussels before they could grow in such large numbers that they could actually block off water intakes to industry and municipalities.
